Republican fiscal hawks in Congress are making a new pitch in the struggle to end the longest government shutdown in U.S. history: Continue to spend at the same rate as last year for as long as possible.

Members of the US Congress have written a letter to the former Prince asking him to detail his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.

The letter from Congress referenced Andrew's well-known ties to Jeffrey Epstein and his supposed encounter with Virginia Giuffre, who died by suicide in April.

Democrats will defend their majority in the U.S. House of Representatives in the Nov. 3 election, in which about one in 10 of the chamber’s 435 seats will be the subject of a competitive race, according to nonpartisan tracking services.

“It’s an historic moment for the Congress. It’s an historic moment for the women of America. It is a moment for which we have waited over 200 years,” said United States Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi in January 2007, upon becoming the speaker of the US House of Representatives.
