Or the other option is to match lb to lb for strength? 40lb braid should go with 40lb leader, etc. I've always heard what other people mostly do or use. Some say, "run 10lb lighter to whatever braid you use", etc.

The Samurai probably has significant over test while the J Braid is closer to an IGFA rated line. That is why it is best to purchase all fishing lines by diameter not labeled line test. Would personally not go thinner then PE 1.5 unless the targets are over 30# and or dropping over 150 meters.

Well, I wonder if it is OK for me to use Maxima 20lbs (green) mono leader and braid 20lbs main line (lime green) for Winter steelhead and salmon in drift fishing.
